Comitato Linguistico is an official DITALS Examination Centre
for certificates in Italian Language Teaching

The DITALS Certification (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language) is a professional qualification issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena. It certifies the theoretical and practical skills required to teach Italian to non-native speakers.
It is officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR). Specifically, the Level II certification is a valid specialization for entering the A023 competition class (Teaching Italian to foreigners in public schools).

Certification Levels
The DITALS system is divided into levels based on the candidate’s experience and goals:
  • DITALS BASE: For non-native speakers (C2 level required) or Italians starting their training; it certifies basic teaching competence.
  • DITALS Level I: Certifies specific competence for teaching particular learner profiles (e.g., children, teenagers, adults, migrants, or university students).
  • DITALS Level II: Certifies advanced and comprehensive competence, valid for teaching any group in any context. It is the highest level and requires stricter prerequisites in terms of training and internship.
  • DITALS Digitale: A specific certification for those teaching in remote or technology-integrated environments.
